Sixth day of the third week of Waeghost

More than anything else, Cyrus wanted to kick a chair and scream into the empty lab just to hear something other than his own breathing filling the space.

Talhan was remaining stubbornly silent. While his isle had never been much for conversation, there had always been a hum in the back of his head that let him know he wasn’t alone. That someone else was there to help him through. And now, with Xani and Temira gone, and Talhan quieter than the grave, his head felt empty and his heart far from full.

His gaze travelled across the mishmash of technology strewn across the workbench and fell on a box of orange crystals.

He’d do anything to have someone else back in the lab again.

Anything.
